At the beginning of his career, Koppány performed legal tasks related to the management of public property, certain sports investments and support for sports governance, litigation and non-litigation, and gained experience in classical civil law tasks. He then started to work in the field of public procurement law, which is still a major part of his professional career.

His work in the field of public procurement has given him a wide range of experience in the design, preparation, implementation and follow-up of the public procurement part of projects and investments on the contracting authority side. He has managed public procurement procedures and provided general advice to contracting authorities, including in particular central budgetary bodies, municipalities and subsidised organisations, to support their day-to-day operations. He assisted tenderers in participating in public procurement procedures and related redress procedures.
